Sp🎃🎃ky Halloween peanut butter dog treats

Sp🎃🎃ky Halloween peanut butter dog treats

Instead of dressing my boxer dog in a costume for Halloween, I make her homemade Halloween-themed dog treats. Not that she really knows anything about the holiday, but she loves being treated with spooktacular dog treats.

There's nothing hard about making these spooky dog treats. The ingredients are simple and healthy for dogs to have. You'll create the peanut butter/oatmeal dough, then roll it out and use Halloween cookie cutters to press the shapes out. Then you'll bake the dog treats in the oven. It's as simple as that!

Ingredients:

  • 2-½ cups of flour

  • 1 egg

  • ½ cup of water

  • 1-½ cups of peanut butter

  • ¼ cup of oats (I used quick oats)

Instructions:

In a bowl, add the flour, egg, and water. Mix well until combined. Now, add the peanut butter and the oats; mix well. I usually begin mixing the ingredients with a large fork, but generally end up using my hands to mix the ingredients well.

Next, dust your work surface with a small amount of flour. Then roll the peanut butter dough out with a rolling pin. The thickness doesn't really matter. However, remember that the thicker you make the dog treats, the longer it'll take to bake them.

When you have the dough rolled out to your desired thickness, use Halloween cookie cutters (or a knife to cut out spooky shapes) and press the shapes out. Place the cutout shapes onto a lightly greased pan. Bake at 375 degrees F for about twenty-five minutes, or until the dog treats are done. (I was super upset with this project today, because when I got my dough ready to cut the shapes out, I couldn't find my Halloween cookie cutters. I found everything but what I was looking for, but the ghost and goblin set I couldn't find. So, I ended up using an open-mouthed jar to make my pumpkins, and well, the other shape is supposed to look like a ghost. I just free-handed the cutouts by using a knife. All the shapes turned out looking a little different.)

Allow them to cool before giving your pooch a spooky, spooktacular Halloween treat.

Note:

You can create peanut butter frosting for the treats by adding three tablespoons of peanut butter with ¾ cup of plain Greek yogurt. Combine well, then smear the frosting over the Halloween dog treats. Place the treats in an airtight container and keep them inside your fridge. Or just smear peanut butter on your dogs' treats before feeding them.

I normally do not add any type of frosting to dog treats, because they stay fresh for a longer time period without frosting them. However, today I smeared peanut butter on a couple of treats (just for show). Princess (my dog) was happy because she got to eat those two treats right away. I transferred the rest of her treats to an airtight bag.

🎃🎃🎃🎃 Happy Halloween!!!

Peanut butter oatmeal dog treats

Peanut butter oatmeal dog treats Today, I am super excited to share my techniques for making another truly wholesome dog treat with you. After-all, your furry companions deserve healthy food, so that they can be their best selves. These pup treats are the perfect snack to make ahead of time for your cuddly pooch as a reward for their love and companionship, obedience, potty-training, or for any other training in general.  My fur baby seems to think that the treats taste better when they're made in different cute shapes. So, I use three different cookie cutters when I make these dog treats. Plus, using different cookie cutter sizes also allows me to make good use of the leftover dough pieces. The three shapes that I am using for this recipe are a gingerbread man, a star, and a flower-shaped cookie cutter. (I use regular cookie cutters to make mine.) If you don't have any cookie cutters, that's okay too. After rolling out the dough, cut it into squared-shaped pieces, or use a...

Tips for Bathing Your Pup

Image by oritslama from Pixabay Tips for Bathing Your Pup Getting Ready Before you start giving your dog a bath, make sure you have everything you need. This includes dog shampoo, towels, a brush, and treats to reward your pup for being a good boy or girl. Choosing the Right Shampoo Not all shampoos are created equal! Make sure to use a shampoo specifically made for dogs. Human shampoo can be too harsh for your furry friend's skin. Getting Wet When it's time to get your dog wet, use lukewarm water. Make sure to wet your pup's fur thoroughly before applying shampoo. Be gentle and make sure to avoid getting water in their ears and eyes. Scrub-a-Dub-Dub Once your dog is all wet, it's time to lather up that shampoo! Gently massage the shampoo into their fur, making sure to get all those hard-to-reach spots. Don't forget to rinse thoroughly to avoid any leftover soap residue. Drying Off After the bath is done, it's time to dry off your dog. Use a towel to gently pat...
